    Changing my rear main. ( 2001 Jeep Cherokee sport w/4.0 )

    Any tips?

    Quality parts. this is to much work to go cheap.

    be sure to do the PCV/CCV system as that controls pressure in crank area.

    Use a syringe and squire some dishsoap up into the channel before you install the new upper half.
    Jack the jeep up as high as you can get it, suppose it by the "frame", take the tires off and drop the axle as far as you can. You may have to remove the shocks, disconnect the exhaust, etc to get enough room to drop the oil pan. Unless it's lifted, on 4.5" lift I just disconnect the exhaust manifold from the pipe to get a bit more room.
    Wouldn't hurt to check the main and rod bearings while you are in there or change the oil pump for that matter.
