Just replaced the motor in 2008 Grand Cherokee with 5.7 hemi from Dodge Durango. Try to start, get one click and it moves the belt, but nothing else. Can hot-wire the starter and it will crank, but nothing when try key in ignition. The only code I'm getting is 3449 which is a Cylinder 7 deactivation code. I don't think this could keep it from starting since one of the fixes for this includes getting the engine up to running temperature. The vehicle is recogniizing the key, the immobilizer is not deactivating it. Any ideas?

Does it crank slow or fast? If slow, check the battery, If fast you could have an issue with the wiring going to the starter relay.

I get one click, and it moves the belt. Battery is fully charged, not wiring going to starter. It started and I drove it here before I replaced the motor. It's like it starts to crank but something shuts it down. I swapped out the auto shut down relay and it still does it. If I bypass the computer and put power directly to the starter it will crank normally.
