2014 Jeep Compass ETC Light Issue

    2014 Blue Jeep Compass Sport 2.0L
    Hey all, I have a 2014 Jeep Compass Sport with 133k miles. My jeep has the 2.0L 6 speed auto. I have the ETC light issue where the jeep goes into a half second limp mode on acceleration and the red ETC light comes on and then disappears. Recently the problem has been happening more and more frequently and the light is staying on longer or until I let up on the gas pedal, then it goes away.
    I've already replaced the throttle body about 3k miles ago and it helped for a couple months and then the problem came back.
    My question is, should look to the gas pedal assembly next? Can the sensors in the pedal be replaced without replacing the entire unit? This is my only vehicle and I need it to last.
