2016 Cherokee...good/bad?

    2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2wd 5.7 Hemi
    I am considering trading my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7L 2wd with 92k miles for a 2016
    Grand Cherokee Laredo RWD SUV 3.6 V6 with 18k miles.

    are there any crazy TIPM issues I need to be aware of? Crazy recalls!!??

    Are you selectively seeking RWD JGC? I'm a tad biased towards 4WD which adds maintenance+complexity but offers the ability to explore trails, confidence with inclement weather conditions and better resale value. The 5.7 drinks gas but offers more torque than the adequate 3.6. I don't have to tell you Jeeps don't have a stellar reputation for reliability so my recommendation is: buy new or newer certified or lease and robust warranty. FCA is not alone with their version of TIPM issues as most if not all modern vehicles are laden with integrated electronics systems.

    yeah I’m more for getting that Jeep 5.7L I have to work but if I can trade in for 18k certified...it’s an option. I’m not really going to be going off road and our Southeastern climate isn’t bad. It’s a family vehicle to get from point A to B. Right now I just need something that works. In looking at this dealership’s lineup of certified there wasn’t really much to offer.

    other ideas are some sort of darn voltage regulator. Whatever happens has to happen here rather quickly as I am now paying for a rental.

    Btw this came from a charger forum and sound like my issues - Excessive IOD can be caused by inoperative or shorted electronic modules and components , internally shorted alternator, or intermittent shorts in the wiring. Of course a short can cause gremlins to occur just about anywhere. There is a IOD Test than can be run to measure the amount of IOD and isolate the cause if IOD is excessive.
