Seems the 2017 renegade with 27k miles on it will not shift into drive. It will go to reverse, that works, neutral also works but shifting into drive gets 2 blinks of D on the dash and nothing. Shifter is all the way back to stop. No codes pop up and no warning lights on the dash. Any ideas out there?

    Check your battery voltage.
Low voltage causes lots of problems including shift issues. Unfortunately, just putting in a new fully charged battery probably won't correct the problem. Adaptive transmission data is stored in non-volatile memory and is not cleared or reset by disconnecting the battery. A dealer level scan tool is required to reset transmission.
If it's not an electronics problem, there is a possibility of mechanical failure like the shifter, shift solenoid, etc.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any quick fix.
Best of luck, and let the forum know if you come up with a solution.

The problem turned out to be pretty simple. Checked voltage and did a scan for any codes nothing there. Its still under the extended drivetrain warranty so made an appointment with dealership. Had to call for a tow and when the truck showed up I told him what the problem was. He had seen this before and when it was up in the air he saw the clamp that held the shifter cable was missing the bolt that held it on. We pushed it back into place and started it up. It now shifts into all gears. The engine was replaced on a recall 2 months ago so maybe the tech left the bolt loose? Anyway thanks for the help.
