I am new to the forum so hello to all.
I am building a stocker motor for my lad’s 97 tj.
All set to button up the bottom end but here is my issue.
No stock pan or oil pump/pick up to reference.

Installing a Moroso kick out oil pan#27862 and a Melling oil pump and Melling pick#242s (both Noted as stock replacement pieces)

    My pre oil pan gasket clearances are as follows;

Pan to pickup shield is 0.262
Pan to pickup screen is 0.607

Bottom of pan is level, pick up is not bent or deformed.
Moroso tech states their pan works with stock oil pump/pickup.
Melling tech states their oil pump/pickup is made to stock specs.

I cannot believe there is not an off the shelf solution for this application?
    Anyone run into this problem?
Did you have to fab a pick up screen and housing?
    Any help would be appreciated.

My goal is to have post gasket pan to pick up screen clearance of 0.250 to 0.367

    Thanks,

    Pat

If the manufacturer says it will work then it might be a good bet that it will, especially if you have no other option.

    Don,

I get that but a stock clearance is 0.250 to 0.500. My setup yielding over 0.600 pre gasket would be scary on flat ground let alone on a trail.
Just to easy to my way of thinking to suck some air.
Worst case I will fab a pick up.
    Thanks for chiming in though.
    Wish me kuck.
