I bought a 91 Cherokee 424 trans with a 5 inch lift and 31.5 mudders. Basically I can see 3/4inch of yoke coming out of the transfer case. And have been informed that if I break hard enough that the slip yoke will simply come off. Which one can imagine the chaos with a drive line slamming around everything until stopped. Please help!

    Welcome!
I would think that you would need to install the correct length drive shaft.

With that much lift you really should have a slip yoke eliminator. Pro-comp and rugged ridge are both made by advanced adapters. of the three get whatever is cheapest. then you will need Tom Woods drive shafts to make you a new one.

Thank you for your help. I knew about the slip yoke eliminator, but the transfer case I have is a 424 and not the typical 231. I couldn't even find a kit until I had key words of advanced adapters... Thank you for that! Im starting to think that this is not going to be a cheap fix no matter how I look at it.

I think you mean the NV242 Tcase. I believe they are so similar that the SYE kits are the same kit for both. Contact Advanced adapters or Tom woods drive shafts (They also do SYE kits) for more information. Check this link out from Tom Woods: http://www.4xshaft.com/np231sye.html If you read all the way through to step 1 you will see them reference both the 231 and the 242 regarding this kit.
