My wrangler has been consuming a crap ton of oil. But I have a solution and I like this idea if it’s not crazy expensive. My boss has a sbc from a vett. Is there a kit to adapt my transmission to the 350 or would I have to buy a new tranny? My boss will pretty much give me the motor

Subscribed...as this could resolve your performance, mpg, torque, gear ratio, etc all in one swoop. It's not an inexpensive mod but neither is your original issue. Check out Novak adapters for some info

Depending on what year corvette the motor is out of really, if it is anything pre C5 I would not waste the time as it would be a TON of work and money for little HP gain if any. If it is an LS then it would be worthwhile, but get ready to spend some money and to loose your Jeep for a few weeks as motor swaps always have a tendency to take longer than they should.

Just remember that any stock 350 Chevrolet is going to have less than 240 HP and is actually going to make less power than a 3.6 and about the same power as a 3.8 while weighing about 200 LBS more.

It’s nothing special but hey it’s a motor with 60k that runs for 100 bucks. It’s from a 80s vet I believe. But I woke up this morning drove to work and said I’m ganna check the oil cause I’m close to my mileage where I change it and what do ya know it’s bone freakin dry.

I know what you mean it’s from a 80s vet. So like 190 for horsepower I think

I hate it so much! Does the minivan do the same? Have you found out what caused it?

Yep same 3.8 liter, same oil disappearing act.
Piston rings I think don't really know but the thing runs fine and doesn't drip any oil that I can tell.

Mine has no went spots under it. I’ve been doing some research all night and found it possible cause is pvc valve and or piston rings. If it’s not to much to get fixed then I’ll fix it but if it’s expensive as crap then I’m just ganna put in the motor and build it a little

I'm a little late to the conversation. Look into the legality of the swap. In Texas we cannot swap an older motor into a current vehicle. The motor has to come from the same year as the jeep or newer or it won't pass inspection. In your case it would mean the donor motor must come from a 2011 or newer corvette.

Funny short story about the piston rings. Went to advanced auto a while back and someone was in there asking about piston rings but was asking the clerk if they sold chicken wings instead it was pretty funny. Just a random thought

@OFFGRID your right I did some research and if your car has a OBII reader then you have to swap it was a engine that has one. Looks like I might be looking at ether A. Fixing my oil issue or B. Finding my old 2001 f150 v8 engine lol
