Bluetooth Speaker Install in Older Jeep

    I am fast approaching the depiction whether or not to install a stereo in the Jeep. I am an avid music lover/musician and MUST have music. The question I have is should I install the traditional hard wired stereo OR can I skip that and install some marine grade wireless Bluetooth speakers that could install on the roll bar with no wires? I assume the 2 or 4 speakers(or speaker bar) will both operate on the same channel thus connecting and playing the same song. ANy thoughts and or experiences? Thanks everyone.

    Well, it is a old noisy smelly Jeep after all. If you add an expensive high quality stereo, it will be an old noisy smelly Jeep with a stereo.

    Check out crutchfield.com for info on radios and speakers that can meet your needs for modern audio with BT, apple/android play etc. They specialize in DIY installations of components that fit with all the necessary connectors, brackets, trim plates and more. Now in your particular situation (old good jeep) BT speaker boxes (marine grade or waterproof) make sense.

    Hey agreed, I emailed them a couple of days ago but no answer yet. Ill give them a call and see what they think. I’m sorta surprised that no one has heard of a wireless speaker installed in a Jeep. Seems like a really good idea but I am probably missing a detail or two as to why is not possible or functional...

    UPDATE: I spoke at length with a very knowledgeable Crutchfield tech named Diane who is great. What I am looking for does not exist yet so I have to move to plan B which is a Bluetooth amp with hard wired speakers and hot wire to battery/fuse box. The 66 CJ 5 does not have a fuse box but I am addding one so I can easily wire in after market items such as stereo/CB radio and light bar.

    In addition to the fuse box I’d recommend a circuit breaker from the hard-wired 12V source to the individual fused new accessories.
