I've got a 2008 JK with manual tranny, lifted 4"
I've been waiting for the CV driveshafts to go to install my new Ujoint driveshafts and think it's time to do so. But first I wanted to ask if anyone else has ever had this problem:
The jeep seems to drive fine under acceleration, but when coasting down both in gear and in neutral, the transmission is twitching and clunking, as if the driveshaft is binding (at least thats what I'm hoping it is). This came on suddenly over the last 2 days and I plan replacing the driveshafts this month.
If anyone has experienced this with their transmission, please let me know! Thanks!

Welcome @Ed275 ...trans usually makes its own kind of whining noise. Install the driveshaft upgrade, post some DIY pics and maybe the twitching and clunking will go away.

I removed the rear driveshaft, which I knew had a bad boot, and it was definitely the issue. New driveshafts are going in now.
