Me thinks you thinks it was bad ass without the fenders! But to be compliant the fenders look good too!

Those are Bushwacker “cut out” flares. Install wasn’t too bad, but I had to do a little trimming/cutting to get it all together.

Now I’m ready to have some fun wheeling...

It’s true, I liked it “open wheel” like it was. But the flares are nice, and the look is growing on me.

Finally got to some wheeling! Got the family loaded up, some basic gear, and hit the road. Found some Class VI roads local, the XJ did great!

Still getting some clunks under the front seats/floor area. It sounds like something BIG is loose and clunking against the floor frame on the front section of the XJ. I’ve checked everything several times, can’t find a single thing loose!

Also, it is driving terribly on the road now. The damn thing is all over the road once in get above 45. I must look like a drunken fool by everyone driving around me, I’m surprised I wasn’t stopped and checked for drunk driving! I am going to get it back to the Jeep shop I had align it, something is out of whack, it drove like crap now....

Well I got the XJ scheduled to be re-checked for alignment. Like I mentioned above, it is all over the road. I’m not good with driving it on the road the way it is, and it having good drivability is a key part of this build.

Now to figure out the clunking issue, then get back out on the trail!

Great looking XJ. With the front axle off the ground, check the axle U-Joints and driveline U-Joints. If you haven't replaced them then that's the likely culprit. You can also get a lot of rattling and clunking from a bad catalytic converter (Yes, actual "Clunking" coming from the cat). Good luck.
