My 2005 TJ 4.0 threw the engine belt the other day. Thinking it was broken I just bought a replacement. When I went to change it I realized it wasn’t broken just thrown. When I went to put new one on I noticed that the crank pulley was not aligned with the others and seemed quite a bit forward toward radiator. I installed any way and as soon as I started it threw the belt. I look closely and it appears that the crank pulley is only about 1/8 inch from fan. Not sure what is going on here but would like to hear from folks before I start tearing it apart.
