I was researching if you had to have mirrors on the jeep when you remove the doors. I came across an article that stated Pennsylvania is the only state that does not allow you to drive with doors off. This article was several years old, however i have not been able to find anything that this has changed. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Common sense says car dealers would not advertise doors off driving if it was illegal.

In PA it's official: Doors are required! There is some noise being made to legislatures but it's not high priority. Driving through certain parts of PA is hazardous to your wallet and the individual encounter with LEO could go either way depending upon the mood or what attracted their attention to you. Note: Trail doors may not be good enough

If that is the case, why bother buying a jeep in PA if removing the doors are one of the best features?

Lot of the marketing promotes ultimate freedom machine: fresh air and sunshine with a heavy dose of conquering all terrain. Just do it in your back yard LOL

think positive - doors allow AC to be used :)

Want fresh air in the face - A Milwaukee iron horse.
Final assembly is in the good part of Pa.

Man that's a hard law when PA only has 4-5 months of climate per year to where you would want to do that anyway. I would purchase trail doors and just drive with that. Sorry about that law in your state. No doors is a big part of the Jeep attraction for me.

Ok.....here's the reality of the fouqing intelligence level of the PA lawmakers. They dont require you to wear a helmet when riding....as @Awrench phrased it. A Milwaukee Iron Horse. A Motorcycle. But you have to keep the doors on your Jeep. Seriously....dumbass mother muckers.

So now here's a question. How many PA cops know this law??? Ya know what I'm saying. It's illegal to use beadlocks in NJ. How many cops know that?? I see vehicles, not just jeeps. Running them here. My 2 cents. Take your doors off. And :flipoff:'em. Some times ignorance IS bliss.
