EVO Sport Cage

    The sport cage is considered a safety upgrade rather than a performance or bling-bling j*e*e*p mall crawler special. I chose the EVO sport cage because I like the way the A-pillar supports just blend in with the stock A-pillars and the low-down stealthy dash crossbar maintains the maximum peripheral view for the driver. The EVO sport cage arrives as raw steel, precision cut and welded from 4130 chromoly steel. The wind shield frame is reinforced by the A-pillar supports, dash crossbar, structural crossbar and center backbone that connects the A-pillar to the B-pillar. In my first outing the factory roll bar coupled with the EVO sport cage felt more rigid and solid as a complete unit.
    Some design changes I wanted made the installation tougher and I had first hand experience with some "bolt-on" hassles. In the end I'm proud of the DIY installation and can offer tips for anyone looking at sport cages.
