I'm trying to shop around for a roll bar kit that connects to the old roll bar and comes down by the passenger and driver seat but trying to find one is hard don't know how you get past the emergency brake this is for my 1978 CJ7

    Any ideas or suggestions

Just thinking outside the box: I’ve added the EVO cage to my JK which strengthens the OEM sport bar around the front windshield. Competitive products are available from RockHard. Maybe these companies have something you can use or adapt to the CJ

I remember a fellow who added a Volkswagen e-brake to the CJ that worked great. He was able to use it as a "Hill holder" when things got steep and the engine started to stall or actually stalled. My CJ has a front bar that was made by Smittybuilt and is no longer made that seems to clear the oem e-brake location just fine, but having the extra hill holder would be nice. You might get someone to do a custom bend that would work for you. I once saw a guy do an endo with a full cage and it held up just great. Another guy had a hole on one of the cage corners for a CB antenna and it failed, his passenger got his arm up over the spreader bar and split his arm in half.
