Fuel Filler Door Problem

I recently purchased a 2015 Grand Cherokee and it came with the issue where the fuel filler door was loose and would get stuck at times. In doing some searching, it seems that issues with the plastic hinge pin is fairly common. Well, mine had both worked itself out of place and also seemed to have been that way for a while and the pin was also broken so it can not just be pushed back into place. While I only need a new pin, they do not seem to be available. I found that you can purchase some re-engineered pins made out of metal for other makes (found some for Ford, Toyota, and Chevy), but I could not find anything - even just an exact replacement plastic pin -for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Has anyone else found a place to get a replacement fuel door hinge pin or know of a fix that works without needing to purchase an entire new housing? I did see that I could get an entire new housing on Amazon, but would prefer to replace just the pin as the rest of my housing is just fine.

Any advice on where to find some sort of replacement, if someone has figured out a diy fix that works, or if anyone knows if one of those metal pins for other makes will work on our Grand Cherokees would be appreciated.
