Did anyone here manage to order a Gladiator Launch Edition?

My mouse hovered over the order button several times on "launch day" but I couldn't bring myself to close the deal. Now I regret not ordering a Silver Launch Edition.

    Anyone else take the dive?

Cut through the hype and went directly online to build a "working" pickup truck starting at 36K. Ended at 47K Sport S with MT plus several options with what I considered a retail price I could work with. The Launch will be grand edition for those that can swing some disposable income that way. It hurt a bit when I got some trail rash on my year old JK so I'm not sure I'm ready at 62K just yet.

Yeah that price is a bit much. I would have to sell something to swing it, but I have another non-Jeep vehicle that would go a long way towards a trade in on the Gladiator-LE, but alas I didn't click the mouse and pull the trigger. Now I guess I need to wait until orders are taken.

I kicked around the idea of getting a Gladiator, but ultimately found I like the Wrangler platform better suited to my needs.

Today I have two vehicles, my JLUR for daily driving, fun, and a platform to showcase certain products. I drive it 90% of the time. Then I have a four door crossover that is a "take the wife out to dinner" car. Since I bought the JLUR, I have only put 3,500 miles on it in a year and only 300 miles since New Years.

The working theory/plan is sell or trade the crossover on a Gladiator. The wife says she's OK in going out in whatever vehicle I want to drive, although I can't see her in a dress and heals crawling up into either Jeep. Decisions, decisions, decisions......

Sounds like you got a possible way to get a Gladiator in your home.

I am highly interested in a jt gladiator. I am waiting for a different engine option. I am not a fan of the 3.6 penestar or most v6s in general. The 3.6 feels underpowered on a jk don’t even want to know what it’s like on the truck. I think Jeep gave us just what we were asking for in styling (wrangle with a bed) but definitely not sold on the truck as it sits right now at the current price point.

The 8 speed auto makes a huge difference with the 3.6. I was surprised how much more powerful the 3.6 feels with the 8 speed over the 3.6 JK with the 5 speed

3 inch zone lift. Fox 2.0 shocks. 35 inch nitto ridge grapplers. Bushwacker flat fenders. No name steel bumpers front and back for now.
I stopped at the dealer and looked at one today. They were closed thank God Haha. I couldn't get close enough to it to have a good look at it but it didnt appeal to me at all. Maybe if I was back in the midsize truck market I would give it a shot and test drive it.

I hope the new guy 'bistro' jumps in to advise -

My 2¢ WTF - Really +45k - they will kill the brand. Can you say range rover, pretentious push button, over optioned mommy mall crawlers. and the seat warmer is extra! GMAFB

So what engine are you waiting for? Because when they switched from a 3.8 that had 202hp and 237 ft-lbs of torque to the now 3.6 that has 295hp and 260 ft-lbs of torque, that is a huge improvement if you are a driving a JK with a 3.8 ya you are driving a turd that cant get out of its own way. If you are in a 3.6 and saying that does not have enough torque what now...the turbo 2.0 that has 270hp and 295 ft-lbs of torque?? The 2.0 is nice off the line and will beat the 3.6 off a light but then you are spending that extra money on gas and maintenance (suggested premium gas, and full synthetic oil). Is it worth it in the end to have the extra torque?? In 2020 they are bringing the eco diesil into the Gladiator and possibly the JL Wrangler but all speculation..... The Brand is changing I know its not what any of us want to hear but its evolving to the mall crawlers, the customer that is taking the jeep on the trail is keeping their jeep not buying new ones. The family of 3-5 is buying the new JL as a family vehicle because they want to take the top off and enjoy there Sundays. With all of that being said the Gladiator is selling quick and they are not going to be producing a lot this year because of how late they have started. A lot of dealers are marking them up $5,000 to $10,000 but that is not my practice we are selling them for no mark up over MSRP. I would agree that the price point is high but that $25,000 Jeep Wrangler does not exist any longer....The Jeep Brand seems to be going to higher value vehicle brand and will pushing a Jeep that will be over $100,000 soon (all new Wagoneer)

The previous FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne (RIP) did state the truck would be "expensive, intentionally so" as not to compete with GM or Ford.

They can keep all that over priced BS I have always been a function over form guy. These new Jeeps are form over function , that is what's going to kill the brand. I'm betting in 10-20 years they are going back to basics trying to save the brand they ruined .

Someone needs to pull their head out of the sand and remind them how they got here. Just my 2¢ rant over.
