Couldn't I just plug it from both ends and continue driving ? Or does it play a part of the engine cooling system?

You can by-pass it by routing the heater hose back to the engine, eliminating the heater core all together.
That is how mine is currently until I can get time to replace the heater core.
Not a quick job.. the book time with A/C is 5.5 hours not including the evac/recharge of the A/C system.

Thought the leak you had was in a different location. Who mangled that section of the core outlet? Could try some plumbing hack ideas using shark-bites or compression fittings onto a slightly smaller pipe....etc LOL

How would I go about that exactly? This is the current setup I have now...PHOTO_20190928_125451.jpg PHOTO_20190928_125539.jpg
I plugged off the end on the intake and the heater core outlet, is exposed and leaks water out as I drive. I have to put in 3 gallons of water almost every time I have to drive. The outlet doesn't seem to be pinched as I thought it was because water still shoots out from it. Should I bypass it as you say or throw the hose on both ends as it should be?

Yes it is one of the hoses that goes to the heater core.

the hose is on the right side or the left side, if I'm looking from the front of the engine?

I don't remember which one of the heater core hoses I used, I just took one of them and connected each end to where the heater core hoses attach to the engine.

I know the pinched side (left from front of engine) shoots water out of the heater core, so I'm assuming that's the outlet and the other side is the inlet, as it takes water in to the heater core... I'm just trying to make it to where the water isn't shooting out of the pinched side because it's getting water on my valves and my throttle body connections plus I have to keep adding 3 gallons of water every time I drive. So if you can when you get a chance, can you double check on yours and let me know exactly which ends the hose needs to be attached to in order to keep water cycling through my engine ?

I'm just now starting to understand what you mean... You have no hoses on the inlet and outlets on the firewall. You have your heater core hose ends attached to the two water connections on the engine block.

If that pinched outlet is pouring water out then it's not really too pinched off and maybe I can throw hose on it and have it running as normal ? Or should I just bypass it? I'm not really worried about not having heat right now

Thats why I suggested trying to repair (un-pinch) the damaged section as best as possible. Make it round as possible and cut off the jagged edge with copper pipe cutter (use cutter correctly). Carefully clamp a hose on the un-pinched section and don't crush it again. Check out some plumbing fittings or couplers if needed. Keeping warm this winter in the JGC would be a priority >4me>lol

Secure and protect that hose from any hot or sharp surfaces otherwise there might be a coolant shower in the forecast.
