Welcome aboard! Legality of the side mirrors depends on local laws. I would check your local traffic law regarding mirrors, and see what it says. Might be able to find online too.

    Welcome to the site!
The Upload a File button down where you type the reply is how you can get pics on here. You can also email them directly to your Jeeps Live address.

    Welcome from Oklahoma.
What State are you in? Most states require at least 2 mirrors, either windshield mounted rear view and driver's side or both outside.

Driving around topless and doorless was so much fun on my first Jeep but the YJ was a much simpler Jeep with fewer electronics. As long as the carpet was out and drain plugs were readily accessible the vinyl seats were easily wiped off dry. FUN DAYS....but now with more electronics, leather, heated seats etc we got to be mindful of rain :(

All I could find for Texas: https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/TN/htm/TN.547.htm
I obtained the link from the Texas DPS website under Laws and Regulations.

"Sec. 547.602. MIRRORS REQUIRED. A motor vehicle, including a motor vehicle used to tow another vehicle, shall be equipped with a mirror located to reflect to the operator a view of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet from the rear of the vehicle."

Also if you are on Facebook you might check out North Texas Jeep Club.

On the mirrors issue. First time I went doorless, and mirrorless. I didn't feel comfortable. Muscle memory, and habit. I'd check my side views. And when I realized I didn't have them. Was kinda :censored: up. Next jeep parts purchase was quick release mirrors. And just leave the mounts there. But not sure bout JLs. Gonna research it.
