Hey all! New Jeep owner from SoCal here........bought an XJ to tow behind the motorhome on a long road trip this summer when I retire. I have done my own mechanical work since a kid...built a couple of cars, raced 3 wheelers for awhile. Now, I'm old. Sold the boat, bought a motorhome and a new CanAm X3, and now a Jeep.
I participate on several other forums.....plumbing, electrical, fishing, etc........and as usual, I hope to contribute as much as I take away.

    Cheers!

    thanks for the warm welcome!

I wanted a completely stock unit so that I would know EXACTLY what was/has been done to it.......and yes, I see some mods in the future. Gonna leave it alone, except for some much needed maintenance, for now. (its leaking oil from the valve cover, and coolant from the t-stat.)
Bought all new hoses, t-stat, belt, and a gasket for the valve cover. Then, installing the towing equipment. (I got the brakemaster parts with my motorhome)
I recently got to take a tour of Truckhaven, in my Maverick X3, but I think the XJ will be well suited for that environment. :)

fishing forum? Well, have I got some stories for you.... LOL

Sounds like pretty simple repairs. Any chance you would want to do a write up, and take pictures of any of them?

Wow....can't fly below the radar with that XJ.

The oil filter adapter are notorious for leaking as well.
