I am working on a new 97 TJ project.
I have my old 95 YJ that I’m parting out.
The brake calipers and pads are pretty much brand new. Are they interchangeable from the YJ to the TJ?
How about the rear brake hardware? Bought it but never installed them. Just trying to save a few bucks if I can.

    Hello John, welcome from Oklahoma.
Looking at Autozone the same brake calipers and pads work on Wranglers from 1990-2006.
Looks like the rear hardware may not work though.

Welcome @ffbuzz ...saving some bucks is nice but cutting corners on brakes is not. If the local parts store can't cross reference them it ain't worth it. Besides decent pads or shoes are not too spendy. Parting out the YJ....must be real bad

aggrex- That is a really good point about the brakes. I only thought about it because I put them on in October, and only drove the Jeep for about 200 miles.
The YJ was my first Jeep. I was probably a bit too impulsive and bought a basket case. More frame repairs than anticipated, swapped in a used transmission, which was not much better. I guess you could say it was an expensive lesson. Still needs lots of body work. 246,000 miles on a 4 banger.

TJ Abuser- I know if I sell it whole, I’ll never make my money back, but selling the parts might get me a bit more. And I look at it as another way to learn how things come apart.

Tough life lessons learned....but things will ultimately work out. The YJ with extensive frame damage is probably best to be parted and never consider 246K okay unless the frame is pristine. Jeepers have performed frame swaps but its a really big job that will tax most people. Time to focus on the TJ

You and your TJ can go have a beer sometime and discuss it's older brothers demise. Talk about what a great Jeep he was and how he used to take your TJ fishing. Lol

@ffbuzz ...for educational purposes can you post some pics of the YJ frame issues. Just curious whether it was due to neglect or had regular salt baths at the surf or salt enriched winter roads up north.
