Nice seats. I think I might need the wide body seats.

Progress pic courteous of Ed since I didn’t take any today. We’ll work on it a little more tomorrow after family time.

They do look comfortable and a fixed position probably works well for a 6spd MT except during power nap time when the LOML is shopping.

Watched a few videos from YouTube about installing the sye kit. Does that make me an expert now? I sure hope so since I’m going to tackle it this coming weekend.

It isn't that difficult. Watch out for the double stacked needle bearings. They will go all over. I used grease to hold them in place when I put it all back together. While you are in there I would replace the timing chain and check out your Nylon wear points i.e. shift fork ends and make sure the nylon is all intact. When I did my NP208 I found out that Cloye's makes Tcase chains and figured since they make the best timing chains I couldn't go wrong. Have fun.

Pulled the tcase today. Went ahead and pressure washed it while I had it out. Going to install the sye kit this week sometime.

I just saw that they make a 4 to 1 low kit for this. Have you thought about installing it while you are in there?

My only piece of advice is to be very care when you remove the oil pump off of the tail housing. You do not want to break the pickup tube. Also, make sure it is attached right when going back together. You will never know it isnt right until you have destroyed every bearing in the case.

Yes I think it was the Tera low. Nevermind. That is only making it available to have a 2wd factory low. I thought I read somewhere that someone made a 4:1 for the NP231. I will keep looking and get back to you on what I find.

From what I’ve read they’ve stopping making thatbkit. It was messing up from the get go and whoever bought one they’ve stop replacing them. I might just get a atlas later down the road when this setup stops working or I want more out of it.

Since I got the tcase out figured I’ll get a Novak 4WD shifter cable. The stock one can bind up and cause problems and not want to shift easily. Being that the Jeep is 17 years old why not just go ahead and upgrade it. 6EE19D45-DB97-4730-8441-2A8813030BC9.jpg

I second that, I run this in my YJ and it is one of the best mods I have done to it.
