I just wired up a pair of single wire KC lights. I used a 3 prong toggle switch on it. I ran the accessory wire to fuse box. The ground wire to straight metal on fire wall. And then wired the to lights together running to battery and 12v prong on toggle. The lights won't go off no matter if I turn key or flip the toggle off. What have I done wrong? Is there a good way to wire single wire kc's straight to battery?

Welcome to the site! Sounds like the wires on the switch might be crossed. Did you follow this type of wiring diagram?

Thanks Chris 4x4. I Didn't wire through a relay. Is a relay necessary? And if so what relay do I use?

A relay is better so the lights get all the power they require, and don't pass the current directly thru the switch. Plus, you can run off a keyed source, so if you remove the key, or shut off the engine, the lights wont run the battery down. might be better off getting an aftermarket wire harness that is all inclusive of the switch and relay. I'll take a look around my shop, and if I have one laying around, I can send it to you.

Welcome to the forum @Mango Clem. Chris gave some great advice. Didn't expect any thing less from him.
BTW. I just pulled out a couple sets of lights. If @chris4x4 doesn't have a harness. I have a few laying around.
And if you ever decide to upgrade. I just installed a Trigger relay system. Super easy install. And just plug and play. Just splice in your lights. Hope I'm not stepping on any toes.

What @JKBob 25 said. Those trigger systems are pretty cool. Wireless, so you don't have to run wires thru the dash, and can add more lights or things in the future. I think they can handle 4 aux items?

That is correct. There's 2 - 30 amp lines and 2 - 10 amp lines. The 30s you can run 2 sets of lights off as long as they don't add up to more than 30 amps. Watts is of no concern. So im running 2 sets of 3 inch cubes off one 30 amp line.
Just as a FYI. Most 3 inch cubes are about 2.5 amps. 13, 15, and 20 or so light bars are 9 to 12 amps. Larger light bars are 15 amps plus. So, just to be certain. Make sure your amps dont exceed lines. Otherwise youll be blowin fuses just as fast as you turn on your lights.
Electrical Is by far my weakest point in automotive shit. But im learnin. Thanks to Jeeps Dot Net.

Yup, and actually its for a set of KC 3 inch cubes. Think I have a spare toggle too.

Hit me up @Mango Clem. Yours if you need it. I have no use for it.
