I will be moving next month form Missouri to Florida (about 15 hours) and plan to drive straight through with only occasional breaks. I will be renting a Uhaul with a pull behind trailer in which my Jeep will sit on top of. It’s a 2008 Jeep Patriot. I will also be moving with two dogs. My question is, will I be able to leave my car on with the A/C running to I can keep my dogs in the Jeep with out worrying about heat stress, or will leaving my car in idle that long be bad for it? I imagine some air flow thorough the hood will occur but the Uhaul may block a decent portion of it.

I suspect the truck would block too much airflow from going through the radiator to keep the engine cool.

    Welcome from Oklahoma.

3 inch zone lift. Fox 2.0 shocks. 35 inch nitto ridge grapplers. Bushwacker flat fenders. No name steel bumpers front and back for now.
How big of dogs are we talkin? If they are small enough I would just let them ride in the cab of the Uhaul with ya. I could see bigger dogs being a bit of a problem tho

    Welcome aboard from ohio!!

Welcome @Zdrilingas3 sticking with your story with jeep idling+a/c+dogs I'm thinking of Uhaul exhaust entering into the jeep or the dogs knocking the shifter out of park or having a surprise bowel movement or some territory issue.

They do have 12 volt cooling fans that you can plug into a cigarette lighter. For the 12 volt power you could even tap into the tow vehicle to keep the battery charged.

Every year there is always some news about NOT leaving young ones in the car alone with the a/c on for any reason. It's a BAD choice to make.

Welcome from Texas. No offense but that's not a good idea. In fact it's way past not a good idea. Sorry for being blunt
