You could try sticky traps, I like the flat one that you are supposed to fold up into a triangle tunnel. I just leave them flat.
Now I had a rat living in my project Jeep and my parts Jeep. I finally had to poison him after sticky traps and traditional snap traps didn't phase him.

After reading some of the tales how mice can squeeze thru nearly any portal or crack, getting into a vehicle might be too ez . At my rental the mice chewed through a small vent to get into the dishwasher drain/ food trap. The only satisfaction was the capture and disposal of the two culprits who left the dishwasher unrepairable and a filthy mess.
If the jeep(s) are parked in a garage action needs to be taken swiftly to control or eradicate them before anymore damage occurs. I've had success with the original wood+metal mice spring traps and sticky traps. Baiting the traps with peanut butter helps as well as regular monitoring.

I would try to catch it in a snap trap I would not use the dcon when they eat Dcon they crawl someplace and Die and you will never find them but you will smell them. Those little things make a BIG Smell.

When I use poison pellets I like to put 6or 7 pellets..that way I can tell if they are being eaten...instead of entire box..and you can put in more places...
