I own a new Lexus but find myself driving my trusty ‘94 GC more often. Various electronic bits no longer work—power locks, power windows, info center, stereo—but I get along without them

Sometimes theres hidden value in owning an older vehicle like less worry for door dings, shopping carts, etc.... something that new vehicles tend to be a magnet for.

Yes it’s true. When the Lexus was a week old a truck threw up a stone and broke the acoustic glass windshield. Not long after I couldn’t avoid a huge chunk of concrete in the middle of an on ramp ($1,000). Never even notice the dents in the jeep

When I removed the glove box assembly I was expecting to have access to the heater box and blend doors but instead found these relays and components and no apparent way to remove this section. Rivets on door side but no screws or bolts. Would I be crazy to unbolt the alarm module ect and cut out a section of plastic to get access behind it? I could JB Weld it back in place and with the glove box back the work would be invisible.

Drilling out rivets might be okay but before you cut plastic (never be the same) check the factory service manual for proper access to the blend door.
