Moon Roof leaks

Good day all,

An issue with my 2003 Grand Cherokee Laredo just popped up. Just opened the moon roof for the first time since recent purchase.

Jeep is equipped with a power moon roof (glass)

Noticed a wet spot/stain on the headliner/sunshield

I checked to see if roof was fully closed and it was. Seems to cycle OK with seal where it should be when closed.

I cleaned the seal and roof and lubed it with some silicone spray. Drain openings are clear; I will flush.

Before I get into it, is there a way to replace the weather seal without taking half the Jeep apart?

Any input/ observations?

Did a fast cruise of Youtube; nothing obvious popped up.

I tend to avoid power moon roof whenever possible. Clean excess debris from the channel/track. Try using compressed air down each drain opening before flushing with H2O. Inspect the seal for tears and integrity. Smaller tears or holes could be closed with some silicone glue.

 

Can try a window seal to it? I did for my freedom top that had leak issue and it did the trick. You can get it at Lowe’s or local hardware store. It’s easy to cut down to size you need.
