Hi! I am looking to buy a 1997 Jeep Wrangler SE. Low mileage. No leaks. One spot of rust that I found on the door. It has a tow pkg and wench. Soft top that is a bit worn. No ac, but has a spot to add it. It is 4wd and standard transmission. Some of the paint is chipped. To be expected for the age. New tires, awesome radio. Drives great!

My trade in is about $12500. He wants my trade plus $1000. What do you think?

    Now my intro! LOL!

I'm 46. My youngest just turned 18. She just started her career. My oldest is on his own. 27 yr old musician. Been with my husband for 20 yrs! I would like to go back home on the mountain. But need a 4wd to get up the old almost 200 yr old dirt and rock logging road. Would like to go to the beach without getting stuck! This happened once and we haven't been back! We also love the state and national parks. Big Bend requires 4wd on some of there roads. I have a small home built travel trailer that we will be pulling. Its less than 2000lbs. We are also going to move where it snows soon. We have plenty of adventures planned now that both kids are grown! And I would like to go 4 wheeling and muddin again! I miss it!

Get a load of this...I test drove a 2011 jeep and it had no oil and no reverse!! Why would a salesman do this to himself?
And the other 97 I drove had spray paint spots and an oil leak and the glove box door fell off! Geez!

    Hi!

Stop by a local CarMax if you have one for a free quote. A few years ago at CarMax I got 10k for my trade vs Jeep dealer that offered 7k but ymmv. I subsequently shopped at a different Jeep dealer . Depending upon your time, money and mechanical skills that Jeep sounds like a good one but it is 25yr old so be prepared to overhaul several things to get it super road ready and reliable. Like your adventure plans without the kids and only want you to have a good Jeep experience. Keep your options open should a younger and base stock JK or JL pops up on your radar. Good luck. Post what you decide on.
