Hello: I have a 2021 JL Rubicon Eco-Diesel. I am an amateur radio operator, so I will be looking for ideas on mounting antennas on this "mostly fiberglass.... no ground plane" vehicle. I am a member of Mid Florida Jeep Club, and am a volunteer for JEEP BEACH!

    Hello Steve,
I am a new forum member in Australia and also a ham radio operator. I have 2 meters in 2 Jeeps (TJ's) and HF and 2 meters in my 2018 JKU. I use an LDG Z100 antenna tuner along with my Yaesu FT891 and a vertical "ham stick" antenna mounted on the front bull bar of the JKU. I only operate on 40 meters and performance has been OK (mobile operation is always a compromise!). I placed the FT891 main unit under the driver's seat and purchased the separation kit. The head unit is quite small and is mounted on top of dash (held in place by zip ties). Hope this info helps. 73 from VK2GRD.
