Hello.lwlambert here from Atlanta Ga. Have enjoyed 3 jeeps . Presently I just bought a 2006 4,7liter Cherokee limited. Got a super deal on it with one problem I am trying to repair The codes read PO misfire 8th cylinder. i replaced the ciol pack and the plug but still am having it seems misfire and sounds and feels like flooding when i am in park and gun the pedal. PLEASE. ANY SUGGESTIONS. Also have my past 2004 Cherokee Special Edition .210,00 miles on it. Blown engine I think. Sreaight 6 Cobolt blue and trying to sell it. I have been asking $700.00. Ya'll think that is high or ok. Really need to get it out of driveway.

    Larry, welcome from Oklahoma.
As far as the misfire goes, you could try moving the fuel injector to another cylinder and see if the misfire code moves with it. If so you need to clean or replace the injectors.
For the 04 Grand Cherokee, what makes you think the engine is blown?

welcome hope you enjoy visiting the site and hopefully we can help.

I also suspect a fuel issue, Starting with codes and scanning - most auto part stores will scan for FREE - TAKE ADVANTAGE - and while there 1 bottle 'seafoam' dump in fuel tank - then post ALL codes someone will advise.

Do you have a basic tools and a scanner, fuel pressure gauge, DVOM, rate your skill level, just need details to work issues, competent can follow directions, layman not handy want info to not get ripped off?

Is there a rush on the 2004 - are you SURE its a blown engine beyond your skill level.

PS: hotlanta was home for years - roswell

Thanks for all of the messages. I definately plan to start off changing the injector to cylinder 7 and see what happens. Also the blown engine issue on my 04. When I go tto crank it it makes all sorts of sounds and noises and smokes and no power. Am also considering changhing out the rest of the plugs for my 06. will check on possible fuel issue. my gage in the jeep says i was getting about 9 and a half miles per gallon

I agree with @Awrench , post up any/all codes you are getting. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an Oxygen sensor code.
