Yes - it’s small but I can see water dribbling through.

You may try some of the flex tape.
I would put it on the inside. If you can.

Post a pic of the crack. Plenty of DIY tricks for a small crack. Hard top is not exactly fiberglass alone. Dab of silicone comes to mind for a small crack.

Whoa! How was that missed? That looks like it has been repaired in the past. Anyway what's done is done....Much tougher to fix. The hard top is made of "sheet molding compound" (SMC) which is kind of like fiberglass. Read up on repairs to SMC and any DIY fix will be better than current state.

So here is a pic of the inside - looks like it was repaired here, too. I’m sure a little dab of silicone will be fine for the inside- you can’t see the small crack here bc it’s blocked by the bar.

Hope you didn't pay too much for this CL find. Anything on CL is buyer beware and the CL seller should have mentioned the damage on the hard top. Based off the pics the damage looks extensive (larger than the pic) and it might be a bondo patch. There are some products that adhere to SMC like 3M epoxy repair adhesives. It will be a tough messy job but your perseverance will go a long way. Check out labor charges at a local body shop.

I got it must’ve been hot chick to distract you when you made this purchase.

This is the kind of deals that gives craigslist a bad name. I have made quite a few purchases from CL and haven’t gotten burnt yet actually that’s where I found my TJ.

@aggrex aid $650- seemed to be the going rate - brand new aftermarket was $2k, so if I put a few bucks into it I’m still ahead. A boating friend told me to go to a marine shop to explore repairs.

@LYFZGOOD I’m not on the all-girl team...I’m the chick :rofl:so I’m sure I must have been so distracting that the goofy CL dude forgot to mention the crack.
I’m going to try to make this one work!

Don’t repair from the inside. You’re only asking for more trouble. Get it done at a reputable repair shop and do it right the first time. Going back and fixing bad repairs are costly and only adds to your problems. Jus sayin...

@Hammer12b - for sure for the outside crack... maybe a little dab of silicone on the inside- it’s literally just a little dribbling in but enough for a small puddle on my mat at the end of the day.

AND CL guy sent me the rubber gasket/molding that goes around the back window so hopefully that will stop all the leaking in the back.

Soooo... another silly question with my ignorance of this freakin hard top... I noticed yesterday afternoon the whole inside top was wet with little drops... considering how wet the inside is right now this HAS to be condensation, right??? Please tell me this is a thing!

Depending upon the humidity in your area it could be condensation especially without the rubber gasket/molding.

Update! So the molding-gasket/rubber thing around then back window seems to be working. However, the front passenger “crack” is a problem. I’ve looked at DIY repair and I’ll find a body shop to take a look. So is driving around with the plug out a bad thing?:annoyed:

Plug can be left off to drain water. Might want to lift up that wet carpet to prevent mold/mildew. Could leave the plug partially on if you're splashing through puddles

Ok... I think I just made my truck so much cooler... anything I need to know about “no carpet?” Does the floor get hot? And I can put the rubber mats down right?
