Does anyone else get asked to sell their Jeep ie their soul .I get asked this question frequently and frankly it offends me . If I wanted to sell it there would be a sign on it or an add in autotrader etc. Am I wrong in this?

Hey they don't make TJs anymore and all the good ones not getting the annual salt baths are getting hard to find. Maybe they honestly admire your special TJ or maybe they want to learn more about why its special to you. Perhaps giving people the benefit of the doubt (not all are bad) or if the price is right you can consider making a move. We have seen the huge sales of JKUs as people want the latest cool in-thing some of whom later realize that 4-dr Wranglers don't make a great SUV-type vehicle. Some people just never get the jeep thing and wonder why you do.

Mine is even more rare than a TJ being a LJ .I get what you're saying and I am never rude about it , but when they just keep on saying just name a price. That gets irritating and is what took place this evening. I finally told the guy ok fine 50k to which he said well proud of it aren't you.

    An LJ, nice! A Rubicon?

I’d never be offended. Don’t ever let it offend you. My answer would be:”This Jeep is not for sale, good luck with your search!”

These people prolly only envy you your Jeep and Lifestyle.

At first, I found it a little flattering but now it's annoying. I once said "everything is for sale for the right price". Usually they come in with some handful of change offer or "how much are looking to get?". I WASN'T LOOKING , you were. It's annoying.
Rarer or common model, a Jeep is just not another vehicle. No vehicle in the history of assembly line motor vehicles has been so popular to modify, alter and/or upgrade nor has any other vehicle created a sub-industry to manufacture & supply the parts & modifications. From Rock-crawler to Baja beast to techno-cruiser to weekend warrior, the Jeep IS stuff dreams are built on.

Be honest lucky LJ Owner: You have NOT been offended .. you were just annoyed!

If otherwise .. adjust those interpretation of your feelings about it.

I've had this happen to me when I had my tacoma. Stopped at the gas station to get my bad habits. Walked out and this dude was just standing beside my truck staring at it. So I just walked up to it and started to get in it and he stopped me and told me i had a nice truck and all that bull shit. Next thing you know he asked if I would sell it and I said maybe if the price was right. He said the same thing... shoot me a number anything. I said 38,000 hahaha I paid $28,000 for it. He had this "are you Fckin crazy!?!?" Look on his face. I told him for the right price anything I got is for sale. Then he just walked away.

It depends on your perspective. Which would you rather have, a hot girlfriend that guys discreetly checked out without being obvious, or one no other guy looked at? Leave out the rubber necked jerks for this discussion. I have two vehicles besides a custom Harley. A 2016 silver Hyundai Sonata in excellent condition that no one even notices, and the 1999 Jeep Wrangler show car in my avatar.

I get offers for it all the time, I consider it a compliment. People also point at it and give me a thumbs up, should that bother me? When I spend hours each week making a 20 yr old Jeep look new? I even repaint the underneath parts! If nobody noticed I would be very disappointed. Be proud, my friend. They are just telling you how much they wish they had it!

You know you could also simply smile and say, "You couldn't afford what I would have to get to give it up!"

I would be happy if they would just take it ain't for sale on the first time I say it. Seems like every time it has happened the person gets butt hurt when I tell them it's not for sale for any amount of money.

Had a guy stop Thursday ( 3-7 ) with a '70 1\2 Z-28. Said he drove by a couple of times & really liked the looks of my jeep, would I mind if he took a closer look. Well, ain't nothing I like better than B.S. about jeeps and cars. After about 20 min. he asked if I would be interested in a trade. Well, I couldn't take that Z to the beach or fishing, or trail riding, and he said he could really understand all that, but he thought I might be making a mistake. Maybe- stop back any time, I'm always willing to talk.

When he got ready to leave, it wouldn't start and I had to jump him off with the jeep.

I haven't seen him since. Damn nice guy.
