    So hello everyone, first post!

I have an 83 cj7, I believe with a 304. Wasn't really in the market for one but I got it really cheap with no doors or top. Body pretty decent but some rotten floor pan issues but more concerning is the panels under the pan where the body mounts to the frame. Trying to figure out if it's worth the dive into replacing it all or not? I see complete floor pan replacement panels online, but can you buy one with the supports below already spot welded on? Thanks in advance!

    Hello John, welcome to Jeeps.net.
It's been a long while since I have looked at or worked on a CJ.
We do have some CJ guys here so hopefully they can chime in soon to help.

Ok, so here goes. Starting pass rear, pass front, driver rear, driver front. Frame is pretty good, body good, drivetrain not bad running, just rot under the floor!20181119_144021.jpg 20181119_144028.jpg 20181119_144059.jpg 20181119_144109.jpg

Yeah, PO had the bright idea to just screw sheet metal over the top creating another area to hold water from above!

I got 1300 in the thing so far, what I paid for it. Other than the pan the rest isn't too bad.

Man 1300 and it runs that's a steal for some reason I was thinking it was a xj but I'm pretty sure they never put a 304 in a cherokee

It wasn't available I don't think in an 83 model. I'm still learning as this is my first Jeep and so I'm a newbie to this.

I've got access to everything from welders to plasma cutter and brake and shears. Just know I can't weld good metal to rotten metal.

Good deal if you have a solid running frame. Your welding skills will have the tub repair covered unless you opt for a replacement tub. Looks like a worthy CJ project.
