Hello. Wondering if anyone can help. I recently purchased a 1989 wrangler with a 4.2L engine. The jeep was sitting for 5 years. I got it home and flushed the fuel lines and added fresh fuel. Replaced all filters and did a complete tune up. Jeep ran perfect for 2 days. Day 3 it had problems starting. When it started it ran very rough and would not rev up. I did pull the muffler as it was bad. Any suggestions on what to check or look for would be appreciated.

Did you happen to drop the tank and take a gander at the inside of the tank? Could be crap in there that found it's way to the fuel pump and is clogging up most of the pump.

    Also Brian, welcome from Oklahoma.

Welcome @BKM . After sitting for 5 years rubber hoses, seals or gaskets may have deteriorated and any residual fuel in the tank should have been removed. Great that you got it running so that's a positive sign. As mentioned already suspect gummed up fuel pump, filter and/or carb if applicable.
