I have a 2018 Jeep sport unlimited, have had for 3 years. Ran great, no issues and then it became crazy. At first a few sensors came on. Turn off and back on only the engine light stayed on. Then every sensor light and warning would come on. At one point couldn't get out of park, then one time power steering went, another time MPH gone/ digital and speedometer gone. Went to a garage and a friend both said take to dealership. Did 5 times. They cleared out everything 1st few times, then after 3rd or 4th time said it looked like water damage . They then put in some mod thing $1300. said hope this works. It did for 2 weeks. Was on a rough road and boom, happened again but not as many lights. Engine light stayed on and 2 days later gone. I found before I brought in could be batteries or the bus cam connector. I told the people this at jeep and got looked at like I am crazy. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't have faith right now in this dealership. It's almost like there are wires loose. Oh and if my radio is on the volume gets real loud right before everything starts glowing on my dash. TIA

Mine is doing the exact same thing! It is at the dealership now. They told me it was my aftermarket radio and they disconnected it. Worked great for a few days and then they reconnected it for some stupid reason, 2 days and boom again. I am so upset. I am tired of renting a car. Any help would be greatly appreciated as well.

The last excuse I got, somehow they are blaming water damage (accusing whoever had it before I bought it). I said so it waited for 3 years before it started doing this? It also poured down rain when I had taken it in and they said there was water on my floor boards. I about died! I had to tell them that whenever it rains and I open my doors the water pours in straight to my floor boards..
To me it'd like a loose wire somewhere. I have the same radio it came with but it's weird how the radio gets so loud before it starts acting up.

First I was told it was my aftermarket stereo. They unplugged it and it was good til it wasn’t anymore. I can’t afford for them to be guessing the cause.
im know we are not the only ones this has happened to for them not to have an answer.

Today I was told my harness needs replaced. Because they don't know. I have read it could be the battery cable is not on correct, so I'm going to try that then go to an independent mechanic. I will post

I picked mine up at the dealership this morning after they treated me like I was stupid. I took it to a little shop around the corner from where I am staying and he ordered a new coder cable and hopefully tomorrow I will have answers.
I hope that yours get fixed soon.

So the mechanic thought he found a couple wires that had melted together. I picked it up and drove it about 5 miles and all the lights came on again. I decided to just park it in the garage til I get back in town next week. While driving to the house the windshield wipers also came on. That was new. So I guess next week I will try and get it to someone.

I also just back and fingers crossed. I found that local mechanic and he put a new steering mod in. Made sense since everything is run by the steering wheel. I've had it back 2 days. Knock on wood all good. But I drove it for 2 weeks last time a mod was replaced and it came on. I got my paperwork it says replaced SCM steering control modular. Also it could've been CAN C bus wiring or a Xy231b Connector. I'll keep yah posted. Hopefully this was it.

So my mechanic called me and said that someone came in with their jeep doing the exact same as mine. He said it was with the starlink (looks like the can bus). Switched it out and so far that has been working for the guy. I am doing it on Monday, fingers crossed.

Did you ever get your Jeep fixed? I took mine to the mechanic on Monday and they replaced the can-bus part and so far so good. Fingers crossed it stays good.

Electrical gremlins can be a huge pain in the ass. You may want to check for a shop that specializes in electric issues if there's o e in your area. I'm lucky, there's a very good one in my area.

Bought a 2020 JLU new. After 40K miles, on flat road, I got the loss of power steering, gauges went crazy and can bus errors, wipers going etc. dealership had no idea and did a software upgrade. The problem went away but at 80K after hitting a couple good bumps, I had the same thing happen. Reading forums lead to the can bus block behind the glovebox. I checked seating of all wires there. All problems resolved except the check engine light. Restarting 3 times in a row cleared the check engine fault. Again at 120k, it happened again. Fiddling with the can bus connector again cleared the faults. Check engine light cleared the same was as last time. Dealerships have idea whats wrong. Or if they know they aren't saying. Hundreds of us have experienced the exact same thing. I live in the mountains where there are some rough roads but I don’t beat my Jeep and I don’t go through streams. Just the usual heavy rain and puddles so it’s not an off-roading or water thing. It’s a design problem they have yet to find the problem or if they do know what it is they wont admit it for fear of expensive recall costs.

So mine is we the can bus. That fixed it then my service 4wd light came on randomly but turned off and it would not come back on til next day. Talked to a friend and he said push in all the fuses under the hood. He pushed in like 10 fuses and hasn’t come back on again. That was couple months ago.
