Shocks on jeep

    2008 Jeep Wrangler JK
    3.5" lift, Bikini top roof, Stubby Bumpers, 51" light bar, 7" pods. A lot of mechanical upgrades.
    I have an 08 Wrangler JK with a 3.5" lift kit and looking at other Jeep's, I'm wondering if mine are upside down. How are they supposed to be installed?

    Welcome! Post some pics of your JK and the shocks you suspect are upside down. Most OEM shocks can only be installed one-way

    The attached pic shows typical front shock orientation (top set) and rear shock orientation (bottom set). On the next pic(s) some high performance off-road shocks will look different.

    Some shocks run body up and others body down. Some shocks can be installed either way. I prefer body up just to help keep dirt and mud from going into the body. Call the manufacturer. They will tell you which way they can be installed.
