I ran across this SCS K5 rim for jeeps. Does anyone know if you need spacers or can you do without them when using this 17inch rim with 35x12.5x17 Ridge Grapplers? I plan to have a suspension lift of the Jeep Wrangler JK by 3 inches. Thanks in advance.

Welcome! The K5 is a very nice looking wheel. Did you find a deal on them? With backspacing less than OEM you should not have any issues.

I did not find a deal as I received an email from them stating that sales are what they are throughout the year. Also, they claim that these rims don't need spacers for the Jeep Wrangler JK.

Their statement about no need for spacers have merit because the K5 wheels have 4.3" back spacing versus OEM wheels 6.25"

3 inch zone lift. Fox 2.0 shocks. 35 inch nitto ridge grapplers. Bushwacker flat fenders. No name steel bumpers front and back for now.
    Exactly right @aggrex.

Keep in mind the wheels and tires will be pushed further outside of the fenders with a smaller number back space.

    Edit:
You can safely roll a 35 inch tire on stock suspension with the proper back spacing and flat fenders. Swapping gears on the other hand is highly recommended. You'll still have a sweet stance and offroad capabilities with the stock suspension but you'll lose a little power with the bigger heavier tires. It's all about what you wanna do with your rig.

Have any of you used AEV Pintler wheels 17x8.5x5.5 without spacers?(35x12.5x17 Ridge Grapplers). I was told spacers were needed especially exhaust spacers. They look similar to the SCS K5s.

I dont think you'll need any exhaust spacers for the wheels and tires you want. However if you lift your jeep you will need to buy exhaust spacers. But as long as the AEV's have the 4.5 inch or less backspace they should be just fine and dandy.

boondoc89, I agree with you that 4.5 inches or less should work. Currently, AEV website claims a 5.2" of which I've also heard they are really 4.7". Still, I'm surprised this well known AEV company didn't make backspacing 4.5" or less. Maybe I'm missing something. I may stick with the SCS K5.

I'd say you're taking a safe bet with the K5's. Post up a picture when you get them slapped on your rig
