    Hello all,

Recently has to replace spider gears as well as the shaft with bearings. Due to need of use of the jeep i had to replace the gears that had lees teeth than original. Original gears have 14 teeth for the large gears and 10 on the smaller ones. I ended up with humming from the rear end and the u joints have broken two times in a span of about six months. My question is, can the gears with less teeth be causing the humming as well as breaking the joints? I'd appreciate any help.
