Hi I have an 05 Jeep Wrangler and the other day the check engine light came on and I got a scan. The scan said it was a problem with my transmission. took to get it looked at and after 2 weeks they discovered it was the computer that controls the Motor control module and transmission control module and engine control module/unit. Jeep no longer makes this part. Any companies that repair or refurbish it?

    thats it?
    Simply put -
The code tells you the TCM has requested the CEL turned on,
SO what was the reason for the request?
This is WHY you must use a scanner, to see all modules and all codes.

Was there a hard shifting issue?

The reason for the request was to see if anyone else has had the same problem with the computer malfunctioning and how they got it repaired or replaced because Jeep no longer makes the Computer because it’s over 10 years old.

The issue was it wouldn’t shift it was stuck in 2 gear. Then after driving it for like 15-20 minutes it would shift

yes there is an issue with the 05 06 PCM's - not available, not repairable - I see others looking on the junk yard inventories for a same year wrangler to hopefully get another.

I asked about codes as its not always a PCM that has failed. I was hoping for some hail marys - before we burn the jeep lets try XYZ.

I would suggest a scanner - look at history, pending and current issues.

Few weeks ago, using the pro scanner got the DTC info: PO700 Transmission Control System Malfunction which do. Took to dealer for the specific problem with the TCM. My issue turned out to be 4th gears solenoid.
