I have had my Jeep for 3 weeks! Loving it! I am so glad I picked the one with AC!! I bought a tow strap. Put my work gear in the back. I'm a pet sitter and dog walker. We didnt have it 24 hrs and we took it out to test the 4wd. Nothing too rough. Did great! Took a 3 HR drive and went to the beach to test the 4 wd there too. nothing too rough. It is a 6 speed. Never had a 6 speed. Took a few tries to get used to it. Did great on the long drive. My husband loves having a standard transmission again! It is my daily driver going from house to house. Not as rough as I thoughts it would be. I had A samurai, rides the same. I had a Bronco that was granny gear starting in 2 nd gear. That was a real soft ride. So far so good.
Next step.... Winch and tow package! Gently used vs. New? Where do you get your Jeep gear?
The hinges on the doors and the hood and the front bumper were painted with some type of rubber paint?? Yuck. Its peeling off.I'd like to have them chrome. I don't like red anyways. Maybe hot pink?

You're going to love being a Jeeper. :) What sort of Jeep is it?
If you're going to spend much time in the sand, invest in an air compressor. Decreasing your tire pressure will give you a larger contact patch and help you to float on top of the sand, instead of getting buried in it.
I suspect the "paint" you're talking about is plasti dip. That's very popular with some people. One of the things people like about it is that it can be pealed off easily.
As mentioned, Quadratec is a great source for Jeep parts. I also use 4WP. You can also find a lot of really good deals on Amazon. As an example, I got 10" touchscreen Android/CarPlay headunits for both of our Jeeps for $280 each.
