Took it for a test drive and got to 70 miles an hour on a short back road so I'm sure it could have did more. However I had the O2 sensor unplugged and the overdrive torque converter lockup connector disconnected too. Now I have PCM faulty codes.... is the PCM fried or just needs to be reset after the appropriate fixes are made?

I would make the appropriate repairs, then clear the codes.

 that was a nice fast diagnosis of the trans wiring... someone who seamed hesitant and unsure with DVOM and wiring... that connector did you try NAPA for a new one?

Post #14 that information came from HAYNEs manual? sounds more like aa OEM manual.

With the trans connector AND the o2 sensor disconnected I would expect the PCM to set codes.
repair the trans wiring copy down all codes install connectors then clear codes.

Road test then post all codes...and any drivability issues

@Awrench Thanks !!:), I had to rewire some Vehicles before and especially with audio equipment so I have some kind of idea, I just didn't know what you meant by dvom. I'm kind of out of money for a new connector, I've managed to separate the wiring that melted together and cleaned the wires and twisted the wires back together. Can I throw electrical tape around the exposed wire or can I go cut another connector from the salvage yard? And once I make this repair, how do I reset the codes? By just unplugging the battery for a while?

Add shrink wrap on, twist the wire + solder + wire protection loom. If you can't get supplies today then twist and wrap with tape for now but consider more secure wire connection+protection.
Bit concerned how the wires got damaged.

Sure thing, absolutely...and i don't know how the wire got like that, I just bought it from my uncle for $700 like on Friday. The blue and pinkish wires were melted together almost, brown wire wasn't so bad.

If it drove home and the 4x4 part works you got a deal for 700?

drove it home about 35 MI on Interstate 75 with the front tires toed out 6 in and with it stuck in overdrive the way it is now. I knew it was stuck something because I couldn't get over 60 miles on the interstate and the alignment shop close before I got the insurance, tag, and registration taken care of. It was night time before I headed home, the auto brake lights didn't work so I had to hold the brake down a little bit to keep my lights on at night, turn signals didnt work, and I swerved into everything to the left and right of me, including about 3 semi's with my wife tailing me the whole way

I was just about to ask where you are on the project AND I see you are moving along- the codes appeared in above post. Are you military current or veteran?

    12- expected
    14 - a sensor wiring issue , details later.
45- no bells ring SO I will look it up getting details for other codes.
51- no bells or memory of this one also

the 5.2L is often a different configuration, best to check the books.

hopefully someone else can recheck the code 'count' GTG

OK as for the codes the 5.2L has some specific codes, and meanings.
TMI : attached, look at page 783 (14-82) for the list.
This is from the OEM manual for 93 zj. And the 5.2L code list.
should be some info to get the project moving along.
Let me know if helpful or overwhelming.

Good to hear I'm moving along good lol no I haven't served in any military but I do have CPTSD...Yes 55 came after those codes to let me know the report is finished. And OK I'll see what the book says about the codes. I took the battery out over night and test drove it this morning. I shot video of the gauges before and after, I'll upload it in about 10 min.

This is a video I shot this morning and haven't drove it since. I'm posting this to show you my RPMs on idle. I left the battery unplugged all night and it fired up and idled fine, when I press on the gas it didn't dropped to almost zero. I drove it around for 10-15 minutes and the check engine light flashed on. I took it home and turned it off and started it back up... Only this time, the engine run a little rougher and when I was in idle and gave it gas the RPMs almost dropped a zero and stalled. It does this every time I drive it after I plug the battery in from being unplugged all night. The first startup is fine and driveability is fine until I cut it off and start it back up then it runs a little rough. On the bright side though, the overdrive light isn't on anymore. Thinking maybe it's a vacuum problem? Maybe I have a leak somewhere?

Why did you ask if he is military or veteran? Do we get some special discount? for being a vet. I'm a vet is why I ask .
