I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo- quadra drive. A few weeks ago; the shifter dust cover broke completely out leaving the shift mechanism exposed. I have another ready to install, but need to find someone to do this. But today I noticed that my Tiptronic feature on my shifter is no longer working. I can toggle to plus and minus with no problem. However when I toggle to plus which changes the gears; it indicates on my dash which gear I've toggled to, but it will no longer stay in that gear. Instead it jumps right back to drive? Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I've not noticed any fluids on the driveway to maybe indicate a leak; so this makes no sense. Anyone????
