Hi, new member. I used to own a 75th anniversary wrangler. I traded it in for a car (worst mistake) because I’m pretty short and getting my newborn in and out of a jeep was really hard for me. Now I’m in the market to trade in my paid off car for a wrangler. I’ve stumbled upon a 10th anniversary rubicon with 72,000 miles on it. I can get an even trade. Just wondering if this is a good deal. Should I trade in my brand new car with 7,000 miles for a 2013 10th anniversary rubicon
    ?

Welcome! What are the prices? The jeep will keep it's value longer, so if they are valued the same, the jeep will keep most of its value longer.

Of course we are going to say get the Jeep! Not knowing what kind of car you currently have it's hard to say which will hold it's value better but in most cases it will be the Jeep.
Is it 4 door? Guessing the kiddo is about 2 or so and you would still have to hoist him/her up into the Jeep and get them buckled.
Granted it's not as bad once they are out of the carrier but having to crawl into the back from the front seat (2 door) to get them buckled is still a pain.
I had a 2 door Cherokee when I acquired another child. Dealt with that for awhile and then another child came along and 2 little ones crawling through one door and then having to buckle them both got old. I ended up with a 4 door Cherokee (or two) but now that my younger two kids are old enough to crawl in and buckle themselves I am getting back into the 2 door Cherokee that I have been building over the last couple years.

All that to really say you are the one that is going to have to crawl up into it. :worthless:

    with a kiddo.

I currently have a 2017 Hyundai Azera and the good thing is my husband has a cherrokee so this one will just be for fun and we’ll always have the cherrokee for doctors appointments and what not. I’m just deciding is it a good idea and is it worth it.

Welcome! Always PRO-Jeep just to be clear. My opinion is to watch out for the high resale value of the Jeep which can work for you (seller) and against you (buyer) on especially a 10A. Spending 30k on a questionable used JK versus your new reliable vehicle....buying a new JK would be part of the consideration for me. Other factors to consider: are you handy for used vehicle maintenance, vehicle may have been modified or used as designed for off-road challenges, issues unresolved relative to 2013, etc....so some things to consider. If I'm financing 30k I would be open to financing more for a newer reliable Jeep with warranty. Just my opinion....as I love to have a 10A one day too!

Welcome to the forum @Eve97. I'm with aggrex on this one. If your really interested in getting back into a Jeep. I'd look for a Jeep with lesser miles on it. 72k really isn't that bad for a Jeep. But I'd consider how well was that vehicle treated, maintained etc. Just as a point of reference for ya. I picked up my 2016 with just over 4k miles for 24k out the door. And, still has original warranty on it.
My opinion. I'd hold out, look around and maybe try and find a 17 leftover or some thing up that alley.

Keep us posted. And enjoy the forum.

Well I got it. It was an even trade they came down to my car value of 27k. I was surprised when I opened the door. The inside was very well maintained practically looked brand new with original manual book and both keys. Also was a certified Jeep dealer. Has had one 2 owners and zero accidents. I was just to in love to walk away. Especially because my original was an anniversary Jeep with all the bells and whistles so this one just had a hold on my heart!

Don't feel bad as some of us have done the same thing for various reasons. But like many of us you are back in the mix with a jeep! Congrats on the 10A! Post some pics when you get the chance and get ready for.....one size fits all

Hey you're close. Not by Northeastern standards, but by Texas standards. We do a lot of Wheeling in Gilmer, TX just outside Tyler on Barnwell mountain at BMRA. Ya'll should check it out. The Cherokee is nice too. My buddy needed a truck so he switched with me his Cherokee trail hawk. It was fun and my wife liked it, but with 3 kids we would be a little tight.
