    Hi Jeep Net,

My 2001 Jeep GC has given me a lot of problems and I've kept track of what has gone wrong and what I've done.
I'm stumped now and can't get the Jeep to start every time or accelerate well.

-My jeep starts and runs for about 2-3 seconds and then dies. I got a "SKIM" trouble code and replaced it. The "No key" light turned off and the car ran after 4-5 cranks. Idled ok but died whenever I hit the gas too hard. couldn't go above 35 mph. *Still no fuel on the fuel rail. I now have a P1071 and P1014 code on the dash.

-I figured it was a fuel pressure problem since there was no pressure on the rail so I replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump. Problem hasn't changed at all and I cant get it to start or drive consistently. Car still seems to get no fuel, and feels like its running out of gas.

-Finally bought and installed new fuel injectors and even a new gas cap. Problem is still the same accept the code doesn't show up on the dash anymore.

    Please help?

No. I drove home from church and when I went to start it Monday morning it’s started doing the SKIM shut off thing.

I would clean the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor and look at changing the front Oxygen sensor(s).

sorry for long answer - need some info.
This is a 2001 Wj (grand Cherokee) with a 4.0L eng correct?
You did not do any diagnostics except the key on off trick to see codes.
P1071 and P1014 are only codes showing.

    Ok
The key on off trick is handy but not complete-it will NOT show all codes.
My quick check list does NOT show codes p1014 or p1071. confirm .
the 4.0L does use a MAF sensor.

Lets try a 1,2,3 check on vehicle...
recheck codes key trick and ideally you want a scanner to look at other modules.
you need to do a fuel pressure check using a GAUGE!

SWAG - your replacement SKIM component is not recognized. There are codes likely "B" series.
