Other than a DUI distributor and new chain, the 258 in my 85 CJ is all stock and I'm ready to replace the BBD carb. I had planned on an Offy intake, Holley carb and a header, but can't swing the price right now. So, I'm keeping the stock manifolds and going with a Weber and could use some guidance. Pierce manifolds in California seem to have good prices and tech support for the Weber carbs, but I'd like to hear from actual Jeep owners. Is the Weber 38 going to be too big for my engine? Anyone reviews on Pierce Manifolds? If this conversion works out, I'll be keeping the Weber and adding a manifold, cam and header. Thanks

Your '85 CJ should have an aluminum manifold. So you could install the Weber with an adapter. Although I have heard of better results with the Motorcraft 2150, especially on the steep hills.
