    Welcome from Algonquin, Illinois...

Thanks for allowing me to join Your Group...

I am in the process of restoring my wife's [now mine] 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limites 5.7L Hemi...that we bought new back in 2005...

    So far I have:

    1) Had the [usual] tear in the Drivers Seat repaired...

    2) Purchased a new Mopar OEM replacement [Light Greystone] leather wrapped steering wheel.

    3) Replaced the Center Console Lid with a Mopar OEM Leather Wrapped version.

    4) Replaced Transmission Electronic [Shifter] Control Module [ECM] with a later model that had the Chrome Plated Shift Gate.

    5) Replaced the Parking Brake Lever with a later model Mopar OEM replacement [Light Greystone] leather wrapped version.

    6) Had it's first 100,000 mile [$400] tuneup. [16 new Mopar OEM plugs plus new Mopar OEM spark plug wires.

    7) Installed a iSimple [ISCH73] SoundByte for the Mopar REC/NAV Radio that allowed for BOTH a 3.5mm to RCA adapter [AUX] and an iPod 30 Pin Adapter.

    Left to Do:

    1) Replace all 3 OEM Skid Plates. [The Fuel Tank Skid Plate is rusted out ].

    2) While the OEM Fuel Tank is being removed for the OE M Fuel Tank Skid Plate replacement...have the OEM Fuel Pump [with integrated OEM Fuel Filter] replaced at the same time...

    3) Have BOTH the Instrument and Radio Bezels upholstered in genuine double-stitched leather.

    4) Install later model OEM illuminated door sill scuff plates...

    5) And more....

I had it done by a local upholstery shop.

At first I thought that I was going to have to supply him with the entire replacement Mopar OEM [Dark Khaki Perforated Leather/Light Graystone] Driver seat bottom cushion cover and foam pad boaster so I was ready to buy [$379.32] one from "Mopar Online Parts" [see quote below]...

But he wanted to just work with the damaged vinyl trim and cloth side which he "cut out" and re-stitched" in without incident. He charged me around $380.00 for the entire job, while the quote above was just for the material.

In order to obtain the proper type and color of vinyl, he used the Trim Code that was on the Build Sheet for My Vehicle's VIN...

    Optional Equipment

    Code Description Code Description

*PL Leather Trimmed Bucket Seats -J1 Dk Khaki/Lt Graystone

Even my Wife was pleased with the results...although the "cracked seat" did not "bug" her as much as it did me...
