3 inch zone lift. Fox 2.0 shocks. 35 inch nitto ridge grapplers. Bushwacker flat fenders. No name steel bumpers front and back for now.
I wanted to put bronze 17 inch wheels on our black rig but my wife just couldn't get into it. So we went with a grey color wheel and it looks pretty good. It woulda been better if it was bronze but you know... happy wife yada yada yada hahaha

Might be time to remove the Freedom panels and doors to enjoy the JK. But as soon as I did it rained :(

Added a necessary upgrade to the JK doors: Delrin bushings and EZ on door pin guides.

This trail quickie for today's adventure at AOAA worked out fine. Got to get some ez disconnects for next time.

Finally got my EVO sport cage installed. EVO engineered the individual pieces but I had to "engineer" them to fit. It was a very frustrating experience but I can offer tips after this experience. I had to improvise by chopping, cutting, dremeling nearly each step of the way. Printing your own instructions is not bad but the drilling template was inaccurate by at least a half hole. It was not as simple as the u-tube video. But it's done. More pics to come.

    IMG_20180511_161144.jpg

Despite the issues the EVO sport cage is still my #1 choice. The beefy A-pillar supports mount flush to the A-pillars with virtually no loss of peripheral vision. The dash crossbar lies stealthy low and drivers can quickly adapt to its presence. The entire sport cage is made from 4130 chromoly steel. The JK structure felt more rigid and tighter as a unit as the sport cage does tie in the OEM roll bars and windshield frame as one unit. The OEM windshield frame on JKs are only attached to the roll bar by less substantial metal plates. The Sport cage will be more protective to occupants in a rollover whether on the trail or on the road.

Evo makes some nice stuff, I have their
    Bolt on coilovers
    Front stubby w stinger
    Rear bumber
    Rear corners
    Tire carrier
And a few other smaller items, all of them were a pain in the ass to install. They all need to massaged into place.

Only reason I went rockhard 4x4 cage was I like the round tubes, it matches the stock more in my opinion.

Yup "bolt-on" is sometimes a pipe dream. The RH cage is a nice unit with good reviews that's quite popular and was in consideration especially since it was $200 less than the EVO. Nice collection of EVO components.....maybe one day.

I know where you're coming from on the frustration part. I've had a bitch of a time with the smittybilt tailgate. Super aggravating. Theres a million parts and pieces and none of them lined up with the drilled and tapped holes that were in it. Then the instructions left literally everything you needed to know out in China where the shit came from lol. But none the less I got it on there. It does look good but damn they made me work for it haha

Nice work. I have installed 3 Rock Hard cages and have had no problems with fitment. I agree with EVO having nice stuff. Between my father and I we have installed 3 Poison spider bolt on cages in JKUs and they were pretty involved, but have cleaner joints. I completely trust RH because I have a friend who's brake line broke at the top of a big hill and he got sideways and rolled over down the hill 6 times in his CJ7. It landed on its tires, and the CJ was driven home. After this incident I started using RH cages.

Looking forward to seeing your finished install.
