I am wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase a new exterior lower steering column housing cover located directly under the bowl plate? I'm also looking to replace the actuator rod. I inherited this CJ from a good friend, the cover has internal tabs that hold the key release lever in place. All of the tabs were broken off. Two of them had become wedged under the key release lever. He must have employed the gorilla technique and removed the key. The result of course is the actuator rod bending in a completely new shape. Thanks in advance

You could do a search for a Jeep junkyard, as one might be in your area, or possibly a shop that specializes in Jeep CJs. Heres one the is located in Central Ca. that a phone call might be able to at least provide you with a price for what you are looking for. Here is an example: https://www.jwjeep.com/. Sometimes the aftermarket makes those items you are looking for like these guys:https://www.crownautomotive.net/Jeep-Parts.html. The older CJs did not even come with them so when mine went bad, I just trashed them, and mounted supports on the dash. Good luck!
