I’m thinking of putting a 3 inch lift kit on my 2017 Renegade. Will it change the towing capacity?

The towing capacity when properly equipped is 2000 lb. That spec is based on the unmodified Renegade. The short wheelbase, limited power and brakes are big factors to consider for a tow vehicle and IMO modified suspensions coupled with larger tires will magnify these factors. Other areas of concern are adequate engine and trans cooling for reliability.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more with @aggrex definitely consider it an increased limitation. If you plan to Tow with it you need to look into improving braking, cooling, and maybe even a few power mods. Realistically the best you're going to do is help it "safely" tow the recommended 2000lbs after the lift. Be safe and don't cost yourself and engine or trans by attempting to pull too much.
