    Hey all!

I need some advice on how to get my 2000 Cherokee Classic up and running again.
This weekend some *** broke in through the back window, stole everything and tried to steal the car. The immobilizer did its job and they didn’t get the car but now I need to replace the ignition and immobilizer and no one including myself can find the immobilizer anywhere

I’m worried insurance will total it if I can’t find parts, but the car is in great shape and I would hate to see it go.

any advice on where I can get one? I am replacing the glass with non OEM glass, that doesn’t matter as much but the car no longer runs with the damaged ignition.

    thanks!!

The locksmith who came out to fix it said it’s because of the chip in my key? I don’t know much about this but the car turns on still but after a moment shuts off. I’ll include a photo of the damaged ignition

If you disconnect both battery cables and hold them together for a few minutes. It should/will clear the SKIM error in the ECM for the (chip) in the key.

I'd try Bob's method first but the dumb ass that tried to steal it certainly didn't give a shit what he/she destroyed in the process. second step would be to replace the ignition cylinder and get one with key's that way they're already coded to the cylinder. Finally, I'd check under the dash and steering column to see if they were yanking on any other wires when trying to steal your Jeep.
